In this Distance - 48"h x 48"w x 2.25” - This piece was created by my own hands with acrylic paint and collage on canvas.

Over the years I’ve had fleeting “moose” ideas some of which even became sketches, but none ever really took hold. Then over the holidays I was in an antique shop and I saw a vintage fishing basket. For some reason I thought, What if a moose was wearing that basket and a fox was inside of it? The relationship between the two of them really took hold of me. I think that is what was always missing from my prior attempts. My intention was to create a sense of friendship and love, as well as a shared journey or goal. It is an undertaking that the two of them are taking on together. Essentially, it is their togetherness that creates hope and brings a sense of resilience and strength.
