In the Wilderness - 60"h x 60"w x 2.375” - was created with acrylic paint and collage on canvas. My intention was to create intriguingly surreal, romantic, and mysterious dollhouse holding different scenes in each room. I haven’t yet found all the words to talk about it. It just sort of grew out of me. Actually, it was originally inspired by my daughter Isabel’s trip to Amsterdam in the fall of 2022, which is a city that’s absolutely enthralled with dollhouses! As she talked to Toby and I about seeing them in windows and museams, it planted seeds in my mind which eventually became this piece.
