This piece, completed in August of 2015, is one of only a handful of instances where Michelle finished a piece and immediately fell in love with it. Usually, her tendency to be self-critical steers her towards a more serious and almost diagnostic look at her own work. Especially, one she’s just recently finished. Maybe it’s her love of deer, maybe it’s because the piece feels so hopeful and promising.
