All My Life - original artwork
All My Life - original artwork
The goldfish is the star of this piece - not visually but metaphorically. The birds sing to her. She sees them fly to and fro. It’s all so beautiful but doesn’t quite know her place and she’s unable to connect her own sense of self to everything she hears and sees.
In the poem Toby wrote for this piece, she comes to terms with it in the end. She promises to herself to persevere, to be patient, to find her place. No matter her situation, she will endeavor. It’s an ending we all can aspire to.
The vintage horn is adorned with gold leafing. In my mind I’ve woven it into the same idea of the birds singing - representing the music that plays us through this life. The trunk is old and worn. There is a child on the latch. There are scenes of ships and seaside towns. It represents the journey of life and the goodness this world has in store for us - if we persevere.
All My Life is 40” x 30” x 1.5” and was created with acrylic paint, gold leafing and collage. Please be aware of my note about shipping on the Original Artwork main page.
